- Topic: Dark Age Revisionism: has it gone too far?
  Were the dark ages really that dark? EHK lays out his opinion that historians have gone too far back the other way and that while the dark ages were maybe not that dark, they were still pretty damn bleak in terms of cultural and technological advancement and ergo the term should still apply. This turns into a thoughtful and interesting discussion of European history, well worth a read.

  EHK went through a phase of being addicted to history podcasts and found some really great ones that he loved and recommended to the board. I don't know if the podcasts linked in this topic are still around but if EHK recommends them you know they've got to be worth tracking down.

  Just one post here in which EHK lists the great buildings of the world he is most interested in visiting. You can't help reading the last line of this post knowing full well that he never got to see any of them without feeling sad.
