There better be something more to this plot. Cause at the moment I'm
finding it laughably ridiculous that some two bit thug in some African
backwater can actually buy off half the government and manage to hold
the US hostage. Also, I can only shake my head every time the President
moans about the suffering Sangalese vs. thousands of dead American
citizens as if that choice would take more than a fraction of a second
to make for any worthwhile head of state. The bigger concerns here would
be having our foreign policy dictated to us by terrorists, not whether
to sacrifice American civilians for Sangalese. That handwringing would
have been non-existent.
The Presidential scenes are absolutely dreadful. Stilted delivery,
painfully expository dialog, and at risk of coming off sexist, there's
nothing remotely Presidential about her.
I watch 24 on and off. Sometimes I'll catch a season, sometimes I'll
skip a few. The last time I caught the big intro it sucked me right in
and kept me watching even when it inevitably got absurdly silly as the
season progressed. This one really did nothing for me. There are so many
problems with the premise and the execution its entirely pointless to
start listing them. I have a feeling I won't be finishing this season.
